Once a month we read what US public library makerspaces say on their own websites and answer one question with it: how old you have to be, which machines they have, what training they ask for, what they charge. Every report comes from the libraries' own pages, every quote is checked by two independent reviewers, and a sample is verified by hand before anything is published.

The libraries come from the same dataset as the Find a Makerspace map.

How old do you have to be to use a library makerspace?

Only 27% of the library makerspaces we checked post an age rule. Where they do, young kids usually come with a parent, and the most common age to go alone is 13.
